Studded loafers

Enter any store and you’ll surely find everything from apparel to accessories engulfed in studs.  If you’re interested in this trend but aren’t really sure how to introduce it in to your wardrobe, studded loafers are the perfect way to hop on the fashion bandwagon without looking like you’re part of a biker gang. Since these shoes are a spin on the classic loafer, you can wear them like everyday flats. I like to wear my studded loafers with black, waxed denim, a black and white striped shirt, my favorite denim jacket, and firetruck red lipstick for a polished, straight-off-the-streets-of-Paris look.

➋ Chunky Knit Sweaters

Chunky sweaters, which were previously reserved for those 9 am classes that you were too tired to dress up for, are now the trendiest (and comfiest) look for this season. Although some people might view these sweaters as “frumpy,” it’s not the piece itself, but rather the outfit that brings the look together. Ditch your classic sweater-TNA leggings-UGGS ensemble for waxed denim and riding boots for a more polished look. You can also pair these sweaters with  leather leggings (another favorite of mine this season) and black suede ankle boots for a rock ‘n roll vibe.

➌ Burgundy denim

If you’re not used to wearing coloured denim, burgundy denim is an easy colourful piece to introduce in to your wardrobe, as it is both understated and rich. For a casual, cool look, pair burgandy bottoms with a neutral colored open-knit sweater and boat shoes. For a more daring look, try to compliment the denim with other rich jewel tones such as hunter green and deep purple. A silk top and suede, almond-toe platform pumps will amp  up the glam factor without looking over the top.
