The Intramural T award is based on individual contributions made to the intramural program by a player, coach/manager, official, administrator, or committee or council member. The program allows for multiple students to receive this recognition, this year honouring 17 students on their contributions to the program over their intramural careers.

Awards will also be presented to one male participant, one female participant, and one co–ed participant for students in their graduating years based on leadership, sportsmanship, and performance. This year’s male recipient is Stephen Kupfer from Victoria College, who will receive the Sidney Earle Smith Award. The female recipient is Olivia Lubanski from University College, receiving the Zendra Slack Award. For co-ed sports, the David Breech Award will go to Nicholas Champoux from the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education. The Paul Carson referee of the year award will go to T’ai Simm-Smith.

New this year will be a game manager of the year award. This award has been created to recognize the effort of game managers who work for the program every night. The inaugural winners will be Katrina D’Urzo and Mischa Ludin.

Unit awards will also be recognized at the banquet. There are two divisions that divide colleges and faculties based on overall enrolment, in which one award for each category will go to one unit from each division. Within each division, a formula is used to multiply points that are earned through participation and performance for units with less overall students to make it equal for each division to win. One performance and one participation award will be recognized for men’s, women’s, and co-ed, respectively, with one of each to each division.

These awards are a great reflection of the sportsmanship and dedication of many intramural athletes all across U of T who participate in the university’s largest athletic program.
