A female cyclist was killed on the north edge of St. George campus Tuesday late morning, according to Toronto Police.

Police received a call around noon on June 12 that a cyclist was struck by a truck at the intersection of St. George Street and Bloor Street West. Emergency responders arrived in the area and found her without vital signs.

She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver and vehicle in question remain in the area. Investigators have closed off Bloor from Huron Street to Devonshire Place, and St. George from Prince George Avenue to Sussex Avenue, pending further inspection.

“We anticipate that the closures will remain in effect for an extended period of time. We are asking for your patience and to please use an alternate route while they investigate,” Toronto Police tweeted.
