Making Progress
Re: “No Contest?” March 6th
It has been my experience that this year’s SAC team has been a progressive organization and extremely responsive to both students and campus groups.
I can say with the greatest confidence that I have never met another group of people so dedicated to meeting students’ needs and I feel it’s unwarranted to question their salary. To my knowledge, this year’s executive has consistently risen to the occasion and in most cases, gone beyond. With a 65+ hour work week, they can’t be doing it for the money.
As a student leader myself I know it’s not easy to run an organization. SAC should be commended for doing as much as they have with the few resources at their disposal. I can’t imagine how much it must cost to run a service such as the discounted metropass or to conduct those extensive campaigns, which I remind everyone are always done with the interests of the students at the forefront.
I will be voting “yes” to a group of candidates with a record of professionalism, dedication, and- most importantly- meeting and exceeding the promises made to students, and I highly encourage others to do the same.
