Summer is a hot and busy time for everyone. Whipping up a smoothie is a great way to start off your day or refuel your body after a workout. Not only are smoothies satisfying, they’re nutritious, and easy to take on-the-go for rushing out the door to work or the gym.

For a high protein boost:

2 cups almond milk
1 scoop of your favorite protein powder
2 tablespoon almond butter
3 large dates
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 frozen banana
1/2 cup ice

Instructions:
Blend almond milk, protein powder, almond butter, dates, unsweetened cocoa powder, and cinnamon for one minute on high.
Add frozen banana and ice for one minute on high.

For a burst of energy:

1 ripe large sized avocado with the pit removed
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup ice
2 shots espresso or about 3 ounces brewed coffee

Instructions:

Blend espresso, sweetened condensed milk, half cup of milk, and avocado for one minute.
Add ice and blend for 30 seconds.

For a health-conscious snack:

1/2 cup spinach
1/2 cup kale
1/2 cup pineapple
1/2 apple
3 cups freshly squeezed orange juice
1/2 cup ice

Instructions:

1. Blend all ingredients for two to three minutes.

For a sweet treat:

1/4 cup strawberries
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 frozen banana
1 tablespoon honey
3 or 4 mint leaves
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
1/2 a lime’s juice
1 cup pear or peach juice

Instructions:

1. Blend all ingredients in blender for approximately 30 seconds or until mixture is smooth.

For a little spice:

1 small knob of ginger
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
2 ripe mangoes
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup ice

Instructions:
Blend all ingredients for approximately one minute or until mixture is smooth.
