The new University of Toronto Students’ Union (UTSU) executives are starting their term in office without an executive director, after Sandra Hudson quietly resigned from the position yesterday.
The reasons behind her resignation are currently unknown.
The Varsity visited the UTSU Office and asked to see Hudson, to which a front desk staffer replied that Hudson no longer worked at the union.
Prior to becoming executive director, Hudson was a twice-elected president of the UTSU between 2008 and 2010. After her run as president, Hudson served as the chairperson of the Canadian Federation of Students- Ontario for two terms, in 2010-2011 and again in 2011-1012, before returning to the UTSU as executive director.
This resignation marks the end of Hudson’s three-year tenure as UTSU executive director, having taken on the position in September 2012.
