Here’s a look at the Varsity Blues teams to watch out for this weekend:
Men’s and women’s volleyball
Windsor and Western will visit the U of T Athletic Centre on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The women’s volleyball team has a chance to take first place in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) standings, after its win over first-place Ottawa last weekend, while the men’s team is looking to rebound from its tough loss against the McMaster Marauders.
Track and field
The U of T track and field team will be in Montréal on Friday and Saturday to face McGill University. The team looks to continue its momentum after performing well at the Fred Foot classic last weekend. Men’s third-year penathlon star James Turner will lead the team in its competition against McGill.
Men’s squash
The U of T men’s squash team will travel to Boston this weekend to take on Harvard University and Boston University, amongst other competitors. The team will play four games in three days, its first action since December 2, when they won two games against west division teams at the Jester’s crossover.
Women’s hockey
U of T women’s hockey will face off against Guelph and Brock at home this weekend at Varsity Arena. The second-place Gryphons are currently one point ahead of the third-place Blues. Blues goaltender Nicole Kesteris now leads the league in save percentage.
