Following the second day of the Canadian Intercollegiate Sport (CIS) Championships, the Varsity Blues women’s swim team stood proudly in fourth place with a score of 187, falling just about eight points under Western University.
After the first day, the men’s team was in second place, but successfully managed to secure its spot in first place on the second day with an overall score of 488, sitting comfortably at 68 points ahead of the University of British Columbia (UBC).
Zack Chetrat won the fifth title in his career in the 200m butterfly, and Edward Liu won his first CIS title in the men’s 50-metre butterfly. Chris Manning beat his UBC competitor by two-hundredths of a second, awarding him first place in the men’s 50-metre freestyle.
The Blues men’s team finished with a total of 690 points, defending their title as reigning champions for the second year in a row.
