The Faculty of Arts & Science has extended the deadline on which it will close waitlists, which allow students to “line up” for courses that are full, from January 13 to January 20.
Waitlist closure dates are usually scheduled a few days before the last day students can enrol in courses. This year, the last date to enrol in classes is January 23.
The extension is in line with several other extensions the university has made as a result of their decision to cancel some exams and suspend the delivery of in-person courses until January 31.
In a December announcement, the deadlines to classify a course as credit/no credit (CR/NCR) and the late withdrawal (LWD) deadline were both extended to January 18, after initial confusion over what might happen to students’ marks because of the cancellation of exams. Students will be able to see their final marks before deciding whether to use the CR/NCR or LWD options.
Many campus residences have also asked students to consider delaying their return to campus, offering a weekly payment for those who delay.
