Due to forecasted severe weather conditions, UTM will be closing its campus at 5:00 pm today. As such, in-person and online classes at UTM will be cancelled and university buildings will be closed.
Parts of the GTA are expected to receive 20 to 30 centimetres of snow over the next 24 hours.
Students, staff, faculty, and librarians that are currently on UTM’s campus have been asked to leave campus as soon as possible and to work remotely instead. Students living in residence and staff working essential service jobs — including campus security and residence services — are permitted to stay on campus.
The last shuttle bus from UTM to UTSG will depart at 5:15 pm, and the last shuttle bus from UTSG to UTM will depart at 6:15 pm. The update warned that service may be delayed due to traffic and weather conditions.
UTSC has postponed all term tests scheduled for 7:00 p.m. today, and students can expect more information from their instructors. The campus will remain open; however, services will be reduced and the library will close at 9:00 p.m.
UTSC will provide further updates to its campus status by 6:00 a.m. tomorrow, March 4.
