In January 2024, Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada announced a 35 per cent reduction in study permit allocation. In September, another 10 per cent reduction was announced for 2025.
The Varsity spoke with international students who immigrated before the restrictions to hear their thoughts, as well as sociologist Dr. Jeffrey Reitz.
