On April 13, the University of Toronto Students’ Union (UTSU) held its annual Spring General Meeting (SGM) to ratify the results of the 2025–2026 UTSU elections.

At 4:00 pm, meeting chair Justin Pappano called the SGM to order.

Two out of six members of the union’s executive team were present, who were UTSU President Shehab Mansour, and Vice-President (VP) Finance and Operations Elizabeth Shechtman. Out of 10 current at-large members of the Board of Directors, only Diego Panario was in attendance.

Pappano confirmed the election results of the 2025–2026 10 Directors-at-large: Eli Miller-Buza, Daisy Zhao, Alice Ferguson-O’Brien, Wolfgang van Gulik, Pranav Chaturvedi, Helia Maleki, Eva Karulina, Ashlyn Lu, Ron Ulitsky, and Jessica Vertlib.

The union’s 2025–2026 election results for the executive team were also ratified. Pappano confirmed that the incoming President will be Melani Vevecka, VP Finance and Operations will be Shechtman, VP Public and University Affairs will be Damola Dina, VP Equity will be Sammy Onikoyi, VP Student Life will be Aliyah Kashkari, and VP Professional Faculties will be Erica Nguyen.

As Vevecka was not in attendance, Mansour was asked to speak.

“Congratulations to all the elected candidates,” he said. “I’m sure it’s going to be a great term.”

Pappano adjourned the meeting two minutes after it began, at 4:02 pm.
