History prof Kenneth Bartlett says the best way to make old material fresh is by “always making sure that you bring the material alive. The material isn’t dead, the material is being reinterpreted, and reassesed, and newly transmitted every time you teach it.”

Tailoring delivery to your audience is key, says the TVO’s Top Lecturer Finalist, who goes on this Saturday at 4p.m.

“If it’s a small class, it can be much more interactive. If it’s a large class, it requires a good deal of energy and an element of performance.”
