An accounting clerk at U of T, Allan Lanteigne, was found dead in his Ossington Avenue home in March 2011. Mladen Ivezic, arrested in Athens five months ago and deported from Greece on June 7, was in Old City Hall the next day to face first-degree murder charges. Another man from Mississauga has recently been arrested in connection with the death of Lanteigne.

Lanteigne’s husband, Demitry Papasotiriou, has been charged with first-degree murder in this case and was recently found to be participating in professional misconduct with mortgage transactions and was therefore suspended by the Law Society of Upper Canada. He has filed claims for his husband’s life insurance at $2 million dollars. However, even if he is found guilty, Papasotiriou’s lawyers argue, “ The proceeds [should] never be paid to anyone, including Allan’s estate.” Papasotiriou and Ivezic have been described as business associates.
