Saarthak Saxena is a third-year Mechanical Engineering student. A former Faculty of Engineering Director on the UTSU and member of the Engineering Society’s Board of Directors, Saxena says that he has learned that “student politics kind of sucks. And that it’s super petty.”
Saxena is particularly concerned about the lack of accountability within the UTSU and is looking into how to balance oversight with freedom. He would consider defederating the Faculty of Engineering from the UTSU and says that his slate is against the CFS.
“I’d say we’re like a protest run,” Saxena says, “It’s kind of to make a point that we can do better.”
