CUPE 3902 Unit 1, the union representing over 7000 teaching assistants, student and postdoctoral course instructors, and exam invigilators, announced that it has reached a tentative agreement with the university after five months of negotiations and ahead of the February 26 strike deadline. 

The tentative agreement must now be ratified by Unit 1 members to come into effect and nullify the potential for a strike. The agreement will be presented to members at a meeting on February 12 at 6:30 pm at Convocation Hall. If members vote to send the agreement to ratification, polls will open immediately and continue until February 16.
