UTM has been closed today, January 17, due to a sudden winter storm that has blanketed the city in snow. All in-person classes and activities on the campus have been cancelled and the UTM shuttle bus is cancelled for the day.
Virtual classes are expected to proceed as usual, unless instructors decide otherwise.
UTSG and UTSC remain open, but access to buildings will be limited. Robarts Library will remain open, but several other libraries have shifted online.
U of T Libraries tweeted that the closed libraries include the Department of Chemistry library, the Eberhard Zeidler Library, and the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education Library on Bloor Street, among others. The tweet encouraged users to check individual library websites for any further information.
The heavy snowfall has closed schools and buses across the city. The Don Valley Parkway and Gardiner Expressway have also been closed. The national weather agency estimates that up to 60 centimetres of snow could fall by the end of the day, when the storm is expected to settle down.
