That, according to Dr. Bob Waterston, head of the Washington University School of Medicine, is the biggest challenge to genomics research. Waterson was speaking as part of the Gairdner awards proceedings. In a lab full of 25- to 35-year-old researchers, all collaborating to sequence some genome, apparently there is a lot of base pairing going on after hours.
