Abbegail Elliott, 21, of Toronto has been identified as the victim of what police say was a targeted stabbing attack.

Elliott’s death marks Toronto’s 32nd homicide of 2018.

She was found in her apartment at 70 Spadina Road on the afternoon of May 23 when police responded to a call for sounds of gunshots. Elliott showed obvious signs of trauma and was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police believe that her murder is related to a previous call to the same address for sounds of gunshots on May 21.

Given the targeted nature of the attack, police believe there is no immediate threat to the public.

Investigators are asking for help in identifying the suspects responsible. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7400 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
