Donald Glover made a surprise appearance in Trinity Bellwoods Park as Childish Gambino on Monday evening, giving fans an impromptu preview of his new album, Because the Internet, followed by a classic Q&A session. Around 1:00 pm that day, Gambino tweeted: “We’re gonna play some music at Trinity Bellwoods Park around 5. Dress warm.” He appeared modestly, as promised — wearing a shearling coat and toting an iPod and a set of speakers.

The show was a follow-up to his appearance in Washington Square Park in New York City last week, when point Gambino stated that: “[He prefers] talking to people instead of just publications.” The album, which listens like a tame but sophisticated Camp, will be released on December 10,with all of Gambino’s pop-culture wit and bass-heavy tropes resonating throughout.

At the end of the show, complimentary tickets were handed out for an upcoming show at Tattoo Rock Parlour with DJ Lunice, of the collaborative trap project TNGHT, and Chicago rapper Rockie Fresh.
