The University of Toronto and CUPE Local 3902 Unit 3, which represents sessional lecturers and other non-student academic staff, have reached a tentative agreement, the university said in a memo on Wednesday.

Details of the agreement will not be released until after a ratification meeting planned for March 2.

Earlier in February, Erin Black, co-chief negotiator for Unit 3, said that the university was making some movement on job security, Unit 3’s highest priority.

According to Black, Unit 3 members collectively teach over 700 courses.

CUPE Local 3902 Unit 1, which has about 6,000 members, mostly teaching assistants, has yet to come to an agreement with the university.
